Access to the Library is permitted to anyone aged 16 or over upon presentation of a valid identity document. On this basis, the Guidance Office will issue a magnetic access card, valid for two years and renewable.
The magnetic card is issued free of charge. In the event of loss or theft, a duplicate card may be issued upon presentation of proof of payment of the replacement fee, set at €5.00 (five euros), to be paid by bank transfer with the following payment reference:

Upon entering the Library, visitors must deposit bags, briefcases, non-transparent containers, and food items in the designated lockers.
Persons whose faces are covered and who have not been previously identified will not be admitted. Staff responsible for admission and for issuing Library access cards may request that bags or other containers be opened for security checks.
Locker keys must not be taken outside the Library, and personal belongings must not be left unattended. Failure to comply with these rules may result in the temporary suspension of the Library access card.
On site, users may request bibliographic assistance from a librarian during opening hours in both the Printed Materials Reading Room and the Manuscripts and Rare Materials Study Room.

Catalogues of printed works and manuscripts are available on site.
Searches may be carried out using the online catalogue, either from the workstations available in the Library or from any device connected to the Internet.

Readers in possession of a valid Library access card may consult manuscripts and rare materials upon justified request. Documentation relating to ongoing research – or, in the case of students, a letter of introduction from their supervising professor – may be requested. For further details, please see the Reading Rooms section.
Once you have identified the item through the printed or online catalogues, please complete the appropriate request form – yellow for modern printed works and white for early printed works – paying particular attention to the item’s shelfmark. The completed form must then be submitted to the Distribution Desk.

To borrow books, you must register in person for the Direct Loan Service which is available to residents of the region and, for limited periods and under certain conditions, also to non-residents

The Interlibrary Loan service enables users of the Library to obtain books and reproductions of documents not held by the Library. It also allows other libraries to request books, periodicals, and reproductions of materials held by the Library.
